How to read the doctrine

The doctrine itself is published in full and rendered verbatim on /doctrine —23 blocks, 27 gates and the market data. This page is the reading order, for the first pass.

  1. 1Understand the trilemma firstGreat, free and .com — pick the one you are breaking before you generate anything. Every bad name comes from refusing to choose.
  2. 2Pick a registerSoft-romance coinage, the self-explaining compound, or concrete greatness. Each has a buyer, a shape and a failure mode. Choose before generating.
  3. 3Generate into the unmined quadrantThe morpheme matrix, the distant-leap blend, and the score: bigram log-probability plus neighbourhood density. This is the only lane that still yields a free, great .com.
  4. 4Run the gatesThe 27 gates: ten hard laws and the mechanical tests. The phone test, the anti-slop check, the invoice test, the first-read law. Clearing them is the floor, never the bar.
  5. 5Probe it coldAsk three unrelated model families, zero context, five times each: a company is called X — what do they sell? Score the dominant guess and its dispersion, never an average.
  6. 6Clear it legallyThe one-hour linguistic and registry gate: pronunciation for an ESL caller, spelling on first hearing, RDAP truth per registry, and the trademark screen — before you spend anything.

What the appraisal actually runs

The doctrine is prose; the score is code. These are the real token screens in the app today —10 hard laws and 17 mechanical tests, of which the ones below are expressible as word screens and therefore evaluated automatically on every name you submit. Everything else is reported as a judgement you make, never as a point the machine pretends to award.
